Sarah Buckley
Director
RN, NIP, Dip Trav Med (RCPS Glas), MFTM (RCPS Glas)
Sarah qualified as a nurse at St Thomas’ Hospital, and her past experiences include working in operating theatres; as a Flight Lieutenant in Princess Mary’s Royal Air Force Nursing Service; as a practice nurse and as a telephone advice nurse. She first became interested in travel medicine whilst working as a practice nurse in rural Norfolk, and went on to gain the highly respected Diploma in Travel Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Sarah has recently completed her nurse prescribing course at De Montfort University.
Sarah is passionate about providing the very best advice to you the traveller – she keeps up to date by attending study days and conferences, and is a member of the following professional organisations:
- Royal College of Nursing Travel Health Forum
- British Travel Health Association
- International Society of Travel Medicine
- Faculty of Travel Medicine of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow
Lesley Weston
Lesley trained at the Broadland School of Nursing in Norwich in 1983, and went on to be a staff nurse in gynaecology and intensive care prior to undertaking midwifery training.
She specialised in midwifery until 1988 when she entered the field of practice nursing. Lesley has held various roles in Primary Care before qualifying with BSc (hons) Nurse Practitioner in 2008. While writing her dissertation for her Masters degree, Lesley started studying for a diploma in travel medicine from The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
Lesley is currently working in primary care as a Nurse Practitioner, she is qualified as a non-medical prescriber, and is the Lead Nurse for travel health within her practice.
The Globe Travel Health Centre is very pleased that Lesley is our locum nurse – she has a wealth of experience within the field of travel medicine.
Stuart Martin
Dr Stuart Martin is a GP in rural Norfolk. Previously he was a medical officer in the Army when he served in a variety of countries and environments. He maintains a keen interest in expedition and travel medicine and still manages to escape to wilderness destinations, favouring polar regions and the Himalaya. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society in 1989.
